(inspired by a little boy i met at Isipingo taxi rank)
On
this precipice,
I
stand hopeless,
Looking
below,
Already
in my body,
Supposing
the pain in my bones,
Be
with me my beautiful love,
As I
fall,
As I
give my wings to the black below,
catch
me,
if
you wish,
catch
me,
I am
falling,
Summon
me before I hit

and if it"s not true
And if
it’s not true,
Let me
journey to the next horizon in my life
marriage,
children, successful vocation & leaving a great legacy
let
me dally in the busy-ness for a while
the
lens stretches only to the sky
not
beyond it…
the
vision down here is eternally short.

Fumble
People said something.
About us. It was nice.
You and I though,
Whatever it was,
We let it go asunder.
We just never committed to it.
I interrogate the uncertainty of it,
How could it be so vaguely special?
How come we never said anything?
How come you just let me go? Just ‘carelessly fumble my heart… with your silence? Inspired by Trey Songz' fumble

Kindness unmerited
Kindness unmerited,
Love underserved,
Nothing in me to warrant your affections,
(A lack in me filled by nothing in this world.)
You move mountains,
Disintegrate the very dearest foundations,
You consume the corruption in my heart,
You bring me to myself,
to realise my inadequacy to fight the foes.
(A lack in me filled by nothing in this world)
To stop working for your favour,
But to behold the darling grace,
And to relentlessly pursue it,
To stop abusing earthly resources
To garner out of them an ever diminishing joy.
Save me from that evasive defeat.
(A lack in me filled by nothing in this world)
2-Corinthians 1:9,
Make me willing to learn,
Make me willing to hear,
That it is not by my strength
But by yours that I overcome.
Kind.
Patient.
Strong.
Powerful.
Saviour you are.
The hope of nations
