the burden of catechetical instruction
My eyes release teary promises I
wanted to keep,
A sister wanted to win…
…now we shush the senses to a
permanent pause,
..a premature halt…a random fullstop.
… the ego,
defers this hot defiance to godly oblivion…
up there! Upward! . Into white
paradise…
Down here though
…The world…a lonely den,
A finite box of hectic busyness…into
nought.
A perishable indulgence…into
nought.
A false forever…into nought
Platitudes from a loving friend –
eternally irrelevant,
Nothing here, nothing there,
just an insidious zero that’s all!
One thing now, is clear…
I may find release in silly words…
but my linguistic range cannot
explain
The burden of catechetical
instruction on my soul,
I move tentatively into theology
with timid wisdom as guide..
